How I help
As a trauma informed therapist I recognize that addressing relational trauma requires a compassionate and holistic approach, one that honors the complexity of each individual's journey. Through evidence-based interventions such as trauma-focused therapy, or somatic experiencing, clients are guided gently through the process of healing, allowing them to safely explore and process their past experiences. The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a sanctuary of safety and support, providing a secure base from which clients can navigate the often turbulent waters of healing. With time, patience, and a deep commitment to self-discovery, you can begin to rewrite the narrative of your life, reclaiming your sense of agency, resilience, and worthiness of love and connection.
Healing Hurts, and Trauma Therapy is Hard.
Discussing parts of your past can help inform and create compassion in the present.
We sometimes need to explore the past to help you fully engage with the present. I understand why many people hesitate—opening up old wounds can feel overwhelming. I often hear, “That’s behind me, why revisit it?” or “Let’s just leave the past where it belongs,” or even, “My childhood wasn’t perfect, but it doesn’t affect me now.”
But those experiences may be impacting you more than you realize. That doesn’t mean everyone needs to dig into their past to heal, only if it’s interfering with your present life.
If you’re unsure whether this applies to you, we can talk it through. You’re not alone in figuring it out.
Before diving into any trauma work, it’s crucial that you feel safe. I’ll never push you into the deep end without support. While discussing trauma can be tough and uncomfortable, my priority is ensuring you can stay grounded and not become overwhelmed.
If you’re not ready right away (which is completely normal), we’ll focus on building that foundation of safety first.
